CLOISONNE AN OWL

Transparent enamels offer the opportunity to peer deeply into their depths. A project-based course focusing on how to work with transparent enamels while creating an enamel from start to finish. By the end of the course, the student will have the resources needed to create their own enameled owl as well as how to take these techniques to create their own designs.

Get either the full pre-recorded course or just the downloadable pdf.

LEARN TO ENAMEL

Join me for a pre-recorded, on-line introductory enameling course. The purpose of this technique based course is to get the student familiar with what enameling is, the tools needed to start, the metals used, and how to use sifters to create base layers and designs. By the end of the course, the student should be comfortable sifting a layer of enamel, firing the enamel, and have a basic understanding of design options.

Over 2 hours of recorded videos to show you everything you need to know about enameling and several “patterns” to get you started.

Get either the full pre-recorded course or just the downloadable pdf.

GRAPHITE ON ENAMEL & TAB SETTINGS

Learn how to take an enamel blank and draw on it with graphite. In this two part series the student will learn how to dome metal using a silhouette die, prepare an enamel blank, prepare the blank to receive graphite and then draw (trace) on with graphite (pencil).

In a companion course, go beyond the bezel and learn how to take a sheet of metal and turn it into an interesting setting using tabs to hug your enamel. The student will learn how to cut a setting specific for the shape of their enamel. A no-solder version and a limited solder version will be discussed. (Basic metalsmithing skills are assumed in this course).
