Description
I’ve seen this moth in art assuming that it came from an artist’s imagination. Little did I know that it is a creature of the night sky. It’s called a hawkmoth!
As we move into fall, this moth emerges as a symbol of transitions and omens – death – rebirth – intuition – hidden messages.
The back holds a mandala which is also representative of cycles and turning inward.
Materials: Vitreous enamel, fine silver, sterling silver
Size: 1.5″ round
Available on a 16″ sterling silver chain (with a 2″ extender if needed).
Painted enamel is a technique in which fine grains of enamel are applied to the metal surface to with a paintbrush to create a miniature painting. Each layer is fired in a kiln — often eight or more times — allowing color, depth, and surface to develop.
