Hang out with me in the new enameling space at Salt City Smithery. This is a great time to practice what you’ve learned in my two enamel classes plus have access to tools and equipment for enameling! Note, there will be no new instruction in this guided open studio but I will be available to answer questions and give reminders so you can use the skills you’ve just learned comfortably.
Every 4th Friday of the month (January through October).
* June is the 3rd Friday due to a personal conflict

INTRO TO CLOISONNE SPRING BLOOM

Cloisonne – 3D coloring with enamel! Join me for an introductory cloisonne enameling course. Learn how to prepare a blank, place cloisonne wires and how to fill the cells with enamel. The students will learn how to apply wet enamels with a brush and how to fire the enamels in a kiln. We will create a vibrant spring blossom working with opaque enamels..
No experience necessary.

April 18
Let’s create some functional art. Learn how to sift enamel on a larger surface to prepare it for your design. Can’t draw, no problem. This course will teach you how to use enamel decal sheets to create designs. You can cut, punch, or tear this material, layer it onto your enameled surface, fire it and create a unique work of art.
No experience necessary.
INTRO TO ENAMELS
May 2 & 3
Start at the beginning and learn all about enamels. In this course, I’ll teach the fundamentals of enameling starting with explaining enameling terms and demonstrating how to use the tools. From there we will create several different enameled pieces using various techniques all while using a torch. No kilns necessary for this course.
